Who must report cases of child abuse?

All states have laws concerning who is required to report child abuse. Some of these laws also cover child neglect. In some states, people who work in specific professions are required to report child abuse and neglect to the authorities, such as police or child protective services. In other states, the law provides that any person who believes that someone is guilty of child abuse or neglect must make such a report.

Those who work in designated professions and are obligated to report child abuse are people who often have contact with children due to their line of work. In New York, such professionals include doctors, dentists, school officials, licensed therapists, district attorneys and peace officers.

Just when I was getting discouraged and was at my wits end trying to find the right attorney for my case, a family member recommended Mr. Brill. He did not disappoint. Mr. Brill and his team are diligent, very professional, encouraging and honest every step of the way. Highly recommended.
