Three teens arrested on murder and manslaughter charges in Bronx woman’s death
Criminal Defense
Three teenagers were arrested in the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old woman in the stairwell of a New York City apartment building. Law enforcement believed the incident occurred in connection with explicit photos that were posted online.
Nyla Bond suffered stab wounds to her chest in her father’s apartment building in the Bronx. She was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital.
Two 15-year-olds were arrested for murder and manslaughter. Police alleged the girl and boy stabbed the woman as revenge for sharing explicit photos on social media.
The 15-year-old male suspect told law enforcement that Bond had been romantically involved with the female suspect, who became angry when she learned that images of her were circulated online. The teenager blamed Bond and allegedly planned the stabbing attack with the male suspect’s help.
A third teen was taken into police custody four days later after his parents urged him to turn himself in. The 17-year-old was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminally negligent homicide and murder.
