New York man arrested for drug possession in police station parking lot

A New York man received a shock when a planned motorcycle sale turned into an unexpected drug arrest. The incident took place in the parking lot of the Middletown Police Department in New Jersey.

Arturo Munoz, 25, had driven from New York to Middletown to sell his motorcycle to a New Jersey buyer. Since the sale would involve a cash transaction, the two parties had agreed to meet outside the police department for safety reasons.

A patrol officer saw Munoz waiting next to a police vehicle in the parking lot. Officer Daniel Flannigan approached him and learned about the planned motorcycle sale. During their conversation, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from Munoz’s vehicle.

Munoz was arrested for drug possession after admitting there was marijuana in the vehicle. Police seized the drugs which amounted to 50 grams or less. Munoz was ticketed and released.
