New York man faces stalking charges for following teen in Walmart parking lot

A 22-year-old man was arrested after he was accused of stalking a teenager in a Walmart parking lot. He now faces multiple misdemeanor charges.

New York State Police officers arrived at the Walmart in Brunswick in response to a complaint about child endangerment. Delijah J. Dunham allegedly followed a 15-year-old female through the parking lot while shouting sexual remarks at her. The teen allegedly asked him to stop many times and made it clear she was underage.

Dunham ignored her pleas and kept following the teen. She locked herself in a car and waited for a family member to leave the Walmart store, which was located on Hoosick Road. They then called the police, who arrested Dunham after finding him in the parking lot area.

Dunham was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, stalking in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree. The first two counts are misdemeanors, while the latter is a violation.

Stalking is a broad term used to describe situations in which someone follows a person or repeatedly tries to communicate with them in a manner that causes them to feel threatened. If you have been accused of stalking, you need smart legal representation to avoid jail time and other harsh punishments.
