- Receiving Child Pornography
Receiving Child Pornography
Receiving child pornography is a very serious charge — one that can have life-altering ramifications, both within and outside the justice system. Even people who are wrongly accused of receiving child pornography are often ostracized by others, while suspects in child pornography cases are often subjected to aggressive entrapment by law enforcement investigations.
If you’ve been charged with receiving child pornography or are suspected of receiving child pornography, it’s vital to call upon a legal team that can help you fight your charges, thus preserving your rights and reputation. The attorneys at the Brill Legal Group specialize in providing a comprehensive legal defense for our clients, whether they are in Nassau County, Suffolk County, New York City, or throughout the United States.
Sexually Explicit Material Defense Lawyer Serving Mineola, and all of Suffolk County and Nassau County
Under U.S. Code Title 18, Chapter 110, Section 2256, “child pornography” is defined as any visual depiction — including those contained on photographs, films, videos, pictures and computer-generated images — that contains sexually explicit conduct that involves the use of a minor (a person under the age of 18).
Receiving child pornography is therefore just what it sounds like. If you are accused or if you’ve been caught receiving any materials — physical or electronic — that depict minors (real or computer-generated) in sexually explicit acts, you can be charged with receiving child pornography.
In that case, you are also facing at least five years in federal prison and decades as a registered sex offender, a near certainty without the right legal team backing you up.
