Drinking and driving targeted in new public service announcement

Driving while intoxicated can lead to serious consequences, including jail time or fines. When you find yourself facing charges of driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence, you will have to determine how to face those charges. New York residents might be interested in learning about a public service campaign aimed at reducing the number of drunk drivers during this holiday season.

As part of a campaign by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drivers are reminded of the importance of driving sober. In the public service announcement that is also serving as a movie trailer of sorts, RoboCop plays a part in pulling over an intoxicated driver. At the end of the public service announcement is a clip that includes part of a movie trailer for the upcoming RoboCop movie, which is due to hit theaters in Feb. 2014.

It is estimated that the number of drunk driving accidents increases by approximately 10 percent during the period from Christmas Day through New Year’s Day. It is hoped that this $7.5 million campaign helps to lessen the number of drunk driving crashes during the holiday season, which can be a deadly time of year.

While drinking and driving is never an advisable activity, it does still occur in some instances. If you find yourself facing charges for driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence, obtaining the help of an experienced attorney can help to make the court proceedings a little smoother. These experienced legal professionals might be able to help you get a reduced sentenced for the charges you are facing.
