Phishing is a type of cybercrime and internet fraud in which personal information, such as website login passwords or credit card details, is stolen from someone else using deceptive methods. It is often carried out by hacking into someone else’s computer or using their internet connection.

Phishing involves using a fake website or email as bait. Such an email or site is presented to resemble trustworthy sources such as a social networking site, bank or workplace web portal.
